August 15: Green Bay (1-0) 17, Cleveland (0-1) 0
(GREEN BAY) - Aaron Rodgers tossed a 53-yard TD to Donald Driver and Ryan Grant rushed for a score, as Green Bay spoiled new head coach Eric Mangini's debut with the Browns. The Packers got all the offense they would need in an abbreviated stint from the first-teamers with a pair of scores on the first two possessions. Rodgers orchestrated a seven-play 78-yard opening drive that culminated in him finding Driver deep in the middle of the field for a 53-yard score. Green Bay's new defensive mind Dom Capers pitched a shutout in the team's first game implementing a 3-4 scheme. The Browns were held to 11 first downs, 191 total yards and were sacked three times. Green Bay had 392 total yards of offense and 25 first downs.

(ARIZONA) - Aaron Rodgers threw for 258 yards and three TDs, as the Packers held on for the win. The
Packers first-team offense played the entire first half, and the team led, 38-10, at halftime. Green Bay got a scare on the opening drive, as Greg Jennings was sandwiched by two defenders while making a 25-yard catch. He remained down on the field for several minutes before walking off under his own power. He did not return to
the game and watched the rest of the half from the sideline. After trailing at halftime by 28, the Cardinals scored
four consecutive TDs, with their final tally coming late in the fourth on a Leinart touchdown pass to Jason Wright to make it a one-point game, 38-37. However, Leinart's two-point conversion attempt failed, and Ruvell Martin returned the ensuing onside kick 39 yards to seal the win for Green Bay.

September 13: Green Bay (1-0) 21, Chicago (0-1) 15
(GREEN BAY) - After seven of the Packers' 10 losses in 2008 came by four points or less, Aaron Rodgers made sure history wouldn't repeat itself, throwing a 50-yard go-ahead TD strike to Greg Jennings with 1:11 remaining to spoil Jay Cutler's debut with his new team. Cutler, who orchestrated seven game-winning fourth-quarter drives in three seasons with the Broncos before being traded to Chicago in the offseason, couldn't add an eighth. His next play from scrimmage turned out to be his fourth interception of the contest -- a new career-high. The big story for the Packers was their new-look 3-4 defense under new coordinator Dom Capers. Capers' group kept Cutler to under 50 percent on his pass attempts -- 17-for-36 -- and held Matt Forte to 55 yards on 25 carries.

October 5: Minnesota (4-0) 30, Green Bay (2-2) 23
(MINNESOTA) - For 16 years Brett Favre tortured opponents as the star quarterback of Green Bay. Monday night, the tables were turned on the Packers as the three-time league MVP threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns, and Minnesota remained unbeaten. It was a picture-perfect night for Favre, who turns 40 this
Saturday. Starting his NFL-record 273rd straight game, Favre, who holds every significant career passing record, set a milestone by becoming the first QB in league history to beat all 32 NFL teams. He connected on 24-of-31 passes. Adrian Peterson rushed 25 times for 55 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings (4-0), who have won
their first four games to a season for the first time since 2003 when they captured their first six contests, but finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers, who replaced Favre as Green Bay's starting quarterback in 2008, threw for a career-best 384 yards. He went 26-of-37 with a pair of touchdowns and was picked off once. Clay Matthews returned a fumble 42 yards for a touchdown and Jermichael Finley had six catches for 128 yards and a score for the Packers, who faltered thanks to Minnesota's defense. Jared Allen led the attack with a career-high 4 1/2 sacks, one forced fumble and one safety. Minnesota had eight sacks of Rodgers, bringing the total times he's been sacked to 20 this season.

October 18: Green Bay (3-2) 26, Detroit (1-5) 0
(GREEN BAY) - Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers continued their home field dominance of the Lions. The win is Green Bay's 18th straight home victory against the Lions, which includes 15 straight games at Lambeau Field. Rodgers went 29-for-37 with 358 yards and an interception for the Packers (3-2), who were coming off their bye week after losing to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. Mason Crosby connected on all four of his field goal attempts. James Jones and John Kuhn each caught a touchdown while Ryan Grant had 24 carries for 90 yards in the win for Green Bay, which shut out Detroit for the first time since November 17, 1946. Donald Driver finished the game with seven catches for 107 yards. His first catch of the game in the first quarter, a short five-yard grab, gave him 596 for his career to set a Green Bay receiving record. The previous record of 595 catches in a Green Bay uniform was held by Sterling Sharpe. The Packers had 23
first downs in the game, compared to just 10 for Detroit, and controlled the ball for 40:48. Green Bay outgained Detroit, 435-149.

October 25: Green Bay (4-2) 31, Cleveland (1-6) 3
(CLEVELAND) - Aaron Rodgers tossed three touchdowns as the Packers had no problems with the Browns.
Rodgers went 15-for-20 for 246 yards, while Ryan Grant had 27 carries for 148 yards and a score for the
Packers, who have won two straight games after their bye week. Donald Driver, Spencer Havner and James Jones each caught a touchdown. Derek Anderson again struggled under center, as he went 12-for-29 for 99 yards and an interception for the Browns, who have dropped their past two games after a 6-3 win over Buffalo in Week 5. Jamal Lewis had 15 carries for 47 yards in the loss. On their first possession, the Packers faced a 4th-and-1 at the Cleveland 32 and went for it, but the Browns defense held firm and got the ball back. Cleveland then moved the ball 65 yards over 11 plays that ate up the rest of the first quarter, and on the first play of the second quarter, Billy Cundiff banked a 22-yard field goal off the left goalpost and in for a 3-0 lead.  However, it was a short-lived lead, as Green Bay needed less than three minutes to take a 7-3 advantage. On the sixth play
of the drive, Rodgers rolled out to avoid pressure and hit Havner, who ran down the right sideline and stretched into the end zone on a 45-yard score.

player, but threw four touchdown passes and led the Vikings to a 38-26 victory against the Packers. Favre, who spent a storied 16-year tenure in Green Bay, completed 17-of-28 passes for 244 yards with his four TD passes going to four different receivers. It's the 21st time Favre has thrown four or more touchdowns in a game, tying him with Dan Marino for the most such contests in NFL history. Adrian Peterson rushed for 97 yards and a score on 25 carries for Minnesota, which was coming off its first loss of the season last week. Minnesota is off to its best start since the 2000 season and completed a season sweep of Green Bay for the first time since 2005. The Vikings won a Week 4 Monday night matchup at the Metrodome against Green Bay, 30-23, Favre's first game playing against his old team. Aaron Rodgers was 26-of-41 for 287 yards, threw three touchdowns and rushed five times for 52 yards in the loss. Favre's heir was sacked six times and took a beating from the Vikings' defense, which set the tone early by limiting the Packers to 47 yards of offense in the first half before wearing down later in the game. Greg Jennings recorded eight receptions for 88 yards and touchdown in a sobering loss for Green Bay, which had won its last two games following the initial defeat to Minnesota on October 5.

Green Bay, which has dropped two in a row, came in allowing the most sacks in the league. Ryan Grant rushed for 96 yards and a TD on 21 carries while Donald Driver and James Jones both caught TD passes.

Spencer Havner had a touchdown reception in the win. Charles Woodson had eight tackles, a sack, an interception and two forced fumbles for a staunch Packers defense, which sacked Romo a total of five times. Romo, who came into the game with a perfect 13-0 November record, did not have a good return to his home state, recording 251 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception on 24-of-39 passing for the Cowboys. Rodgers was 32-of-45 passing, while Ryan Grant had 129 yards and a score on 21 carries for the Packers, who have won two straight. The victory came at a cost, as linebacker Aaron Kampman and cornerback Al Harris both sustained a torn ACL in the win and were lost for the season.
The 49ers' offense overcame a horrendous first half, during which Alex Smith was 3-of-7 passing for just five yards. He finished with 227 yards on 16-of-33 efficiency and three touchdowns, but his lone interception led to a quick score for Green Bay. Rookie Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis and Frank Gore each caught a touchdown pass for the 49ers, who have lost five of their last six. San Francisco recorded just one first down in the first half and went into the break down by 20 points, but mounted a comeback.

CB Charles Woodson picked off Lions rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford twice, returning the second one for a touchdown. Despite missing practice throughout the week after separating his non-throwing shoulder on the second-to-last play against Cleveland this past Sunday, Stafford got the start for Detroit, completing 20-of-43 passes for 213 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. Kevin Smith had 43 yards on 18 carries and made four grabs for 46 yards for the Lions, who have lost six straight on the holiday.

(GREEN BAY) - Aaron Rodgers threw for 263 yards and three scores, and Green Bay overcame an abundance of penalties to beat Baltimore. Rodgers connected on 26-of-40 passes and was picked off twice for the Packers , who are two games behind Minnesota for the lead in the NFC North. Green Bay is also tied with Philadelphia for the lead in the conference's wild card standings, a game ahead of the Giants. Jermichael Finley had seven receptions for 79 yards and a pair of scores for the Packers, who posted their fourth straight win. The teams combined for 310 penalty yards, tied for second-most in NFL history with 175 coming from the Packers on 11 infractions. Baltimore was given 12 penalties. Tampa Bay and Seattle also had 310 penalty yards in a 1976 contest. The record is 374 yards, between Chicago and Cleveland on November 25, 1951.
Joe Flacco connected on 15-of-36 passes for 137 yards with a touchdown, but was intercepted three times for the Ravens, who fell into a tie with the Steelers for second place in the AFC North, three games behind Cincinnati. Down 17-0, the Ravens scored a pair of touchdowns in a 30-second span late in the third quarter, only to have the Packers stem the tide when Rodgers threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Finley early in the fourth.

THE BRETT FAVRE SOAP OPERA - PART TWO
After leaving the Packers in a flurry of bad feelings and finger-pointing, the future Hall-of-Famer appeared to have found the fountain of youth in the Big Apple. Favre threw six touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals, a personal best and one fewer than the NFL record. The Jets roared out to an 8-3 record, including a win over the previously undefeated Titans. However, the Jets lost four out of the last five games of the season including the final game against the Dolphins, who had acquired Chad Pennington after he was released from the Jets to make room for Favre. In those five games Favre threw eight interceptions and only two touchdown passes, bringing his season total to twenty-two of each. Favre had complained of shoulder pain and had an MRI performed after the season, which revealed a torn biceps tendon in his right shoulder. However, it was stated that Favre would only need an arthroscopic procedure and not major surgery.
After the season, Favre told Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, "it may be time to look in a different direction" regarding the quarterback position.
* FEB 11 - Favre informed the Jets that he was retiring after 18 seasons.
* APR 28 - Favre asked for and was granted a release from the Jets Reserve/Retired list, freeing him to sign with any team. Amid speculation that Favre would once again attempt a comeback, it was reported that Favre had undergone arthroscopic surgery to complete a tear in his throwing arm.
* JUNE 15 - Favre stated he was considering playing again, most likely with the Minnesota Vikings.
* JULY 28 - Favre informed Vikings officials that he would remain retired.
* AUGUST 18 -  WCCO-TV, a CBS affiliate in Minneapolis reported that Favre would sign with the Minnesota Vikings later in the day. ESPN.com later reported the same news, as Favre would sign a contract with the Vikings pending a physical. Favre officially signed with the Vikings later that day. He signed a two-year, $25 million deal.
* SEPT 20 - Favre surpassed former Vikings defensive end Jim Marshall for consecutive starts at one position with 271.
* SEPT 27 - Favre threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to WR Greg Lewis with 2 seconds remaining to give the Vikings a dramatic come-from-behind 27-24 victory over the 49ers.
* OCTOBER 5 - With a 30-23 victory over the Packers, Favre became the first quarterback in NFL history to defeat every one of the league's 32 franchises since the NFL first expanded to 32 franchises in 2002. Monday night’s game between Minnesota and Green Bay was the most-viewed television program, sports or otherwise, in the history of cable television. The game drew a 15.3 rating and had 21.8 million viewers.
