September 10: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) 23, Green Bay Packers (0-1) 21
(GREEN BAY) -Vinny Testaverde's passing put Tampa Bay in front and Mark Robinson's late interception made sure the Bucs stayed there. Testaverde led the Bucs to three second-quarter touchdowns and a 20-7 halftime lead. Then it was Robinson's turn to work. Robinson made two of Tampa Bay's three interceptions off Don Majkowski, including one on the 8-yard line with five minutes left that stopped the Packers' final drive. Testaverde completed 22 of 27 passes for 205 yards and a touchdown. Majkowski completed 17 of 27 passes for 220 yards, but his overthrow on the potential go-ahead scoring drive was crucial.

September 17 : Green Bay Packers (1-1) 35, New Orleans Saints (1-1) 34
(GREEN BAY) - Don Majkowski hit Sterling Sharpe with a 3-yard touchdown pass with 1:26 left as the Packers rallied from a 24-7 halftime deficit to stun the New Orleans Saints. Majkowski, who had 18 straight completions at one point, moved the Packers 80 yards in 55 seconds on the winning drive that was capped by Sharpe's touchdown and an extra point by Chris Jacke. The key to the drive was a string of three straight Majkowski completions to rookie Jeff Query that covered 49 yards to the 3. The first of those three came on a fourth down and 17 from the Green Bay 48, when Majkowski passed on a 23-yard sideline pattern to Query, who tip-toed near the out-of-bounds line. Officials ruled the catch good and instant replay did not overrule.

September 24 : Los Angeles Rams (3-0) 41, Green Bay Packers (1-2) 38
(LOS ANGELES) - Greg Bell rushed for 221 yards and scored twice as unbeaten Los Angeles built a 38-7 halftime lead, then held off a furious Don Majkowski-led rally by Green Bay for a 41-38 victory. Bell's total was the second most ever by a Packer opponent (223 yards - Tom Wilson, LA Rams - 1956). A lost fumble may have kept the Packers from coming all the way back. After a pass interference call against Los Angeles' Clifford Hicks put the ball at the Rams' 1-yard line, Brent Fullwood fumbled on the next play, and Doug Reed recovered in the end zone for a touchback. The Rams then marched down to a 45-yard field goal by Mike Lansford that gave them a 41-31 lead with 5:17 remaining. Majkowski wasn't through, however, as he took the Packers to one final score, a 1-yard touchdown run by Fullwood with 2:21 left.

October 1 : Green Bay Packers (2-2) 23, Atlanta Falcons (1-3) 21
(MILWAUKEE) - The Pack keeps coming back, and a month's worth of second-half rallies and close games would be enough to give most rookie placekickers an ulcer. But not Chris Jacke, who had been mainly on standby when he delivered a 22-yard field goal with 1:42 left as the Green Bay Packers rallied past the Atlanta Falcons, 23-21. "You look at all the games so far and I could be in a lot of these situations," Jacke said after his third field goal of the game capped a 17-point final-quarter rally. Jacke had attempted only one field goal before Sunday, when he also kicked a 35- yarder and a 52-yarder as the comeback Packers evened their record at 2-2. Green Bay has trailed at the half in all four of its games before starting huge comebacks. Atlanta (1-3) had a 14-6 halftime lead and was up 21-6 after three quarters before quarterback Don Majkowski shook off two earlier interceptions and led three Packers' scoring drives. Majkowski just missed his third straight 300-yard passing game with 295 yards on 19 of 35 completions. Trailing 21-6, the Packers scored when Sterling Sharpe scooped up teammate Jeff Query's fumble after a pass reception on the 5-yard line and ran in for a touchdown with 13:53 left. That capped a 90-yard drive and began the comeback. Later in the final quarter, Majkowski rolled out and heaved a 37-yard touchdown pass to Herman Fontenot, bringing the Packers within 21-20 with 9:44 left. Deion Sanders, the Falcons' top draft choice, returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for an apparent touchdown but it was called back by a holding penalty.

October 8 : Green Bay Packers (3-2) 31, Dallas Cowboys (0-5) 13
(GREEN BAY) - Don Majkowski threw four touchdown passes as Green Bay beat Dallas (0-5), off to its worst start since 1960 when the Cowboys were 0-10. "This is getting pretty old," Dallas coach Jimmy Johnson said. Green Bay (3-2) took a 17-13 halftime lead after Majkowski and Sterling Sharpe connected on a 79-yard pass play. It was the first time all season the Packers have led at halftime. Green Bay had 501 yards total offense, including 119 rushing by Brent Fullwood.

October 15 : Minnesota Vikings (4-2) 26, Green Bay Packers (3-3) 14
(MINNESOTA) - Herschel Walker ran for 148 yards in his Minnesota debut, becoming the first Viking to go over 100 yards in two years and helping the Vikings forget a decade of frustration against the Green Bay Packers with a 26-14 victory. Keith Millard had four of the Vikings' eight sacks, and Reggie Rutland had two interceptions as the NFL's top defense held the league's leading offense to 219 yards, 222 less than the Packers had averaged. The Vikings (4-2) had lost four straight games and 14 of 18 to Green Bay (3-3). Two losses to the Packers last year - when Green Bay won only four times - kept the Vikings from winning the NFC Central. Hoping to avoid such losses in the future, Minnesota acquired Walker from the Dallas Cowboys Thursday for five players and as many as seven draft choices. Walker paid immediate dividends as a Metrodome-record 62,075 fans looked on. After Herman Fontenot's 1-yard touchdown run gave the Packers a 7-0 lead 8:33 into the game, Walker touched the football for the first time in a Minnesota uniform. He took the kickoff 4 yards deep in the end zone, hesitated for a moment and dashed 51 yards down the left sideline. The return was called back, though, by Darryl Ingram's holding penalty. On Walker's first play from scrimmage, 12:38 into the game, he went off right guard, shot through a hole and shed four tackles en route to a 47-yard run. He ran the final 15 yards without his right shoe, which he lost in Mark Murphy's tackle attempt. It was the third-longest run in Walker's 3 1/2 NFL seasons and the Vikings' longest since Darrin Nelson's 52-yarder on Nov. 26,1987, the same day Nelson was the last Viking to break 100 yards. Nelson was part of the Walker deal but said Sunday he wouldn't play for the Cowboys, allowing Dallas to activate a conditional second-round draft pick. Rutland's first interception of a Don Majkowski pass set up Rich Karlis' 28-yard field goal. Walker had runs of 5 and 6 yards and Tommy Kramer completed a 30-yard pass to D.J. Dozier before Rick Fenney scored from 8 yards for a 10-7 Minnesota lead. Rutland's second pickoff positioned Kramer for a 6-yard TD pass to Jim Gustafson to make it 17-7 at halftime.

October 22 : Miami Dolphins (4-3) 23, Green Bay Packers (3-4) 20
(MIAMI) - Pete Stoyanovich kicked a 33-yard field goal with six seconds to play, giving the Miami Dolphins a 23-20 victory after Green Bay rallied with two touchdowns in the final six minutes. Dan Marino, taking the ball on his own 31, moved to field goal range with pass plays of 24 yards to Fred Banks and 20 and 14 yards to Mark Clayton, setting up the Dolphins third straight narrow victory. Marino earlier passed for two touchdowns and totaled 333 yards with 24 completions in 37 attempts. Stoyanovich had three field goals for Miami. The Packers, gaining a reputation for wild comebacks, tied the score 20-20 on Don Majkowski's 10-yard scoring pass to Sterling Sharpe with 53 seconds left. Sharpe took a 22-yard scoring pass from Majkowski with 5:54 remaining. Majkowski, who began the game leading the NFL in passing yards, passed for 221 yards with 26 completions in 42 attempts. FB Marc Logan got the Dolphins moving with a 13-yard run on their second possession of the second half, and Jim Jensen caught an 8-yard pass and ran for 5 yards on a third-down conversion. Marino found Clayton in the end zone on a third down 8:15 into the second half. On Miami's next possession, Troy Stradford fumbled a punt, then scrambled after the bouncing ball, scooped it up, and made a 19-yard return to Miami's 38, beginning an 11-play, 58-yard drive that ended with Stoyanovich's 21-yard field goal and a 20-6 lead eight seconds into the fourth quarter. The Dolphins scored on the game's first series on a 13-play, 77-yard drive kept alive when Tiger Greene was penalized for running into the punter. The scoring pass to Jensen came with 6:43 gone. Majkowski moved the Packers back with 43 yards in nine plays finished by Chris Jacke's 44-yard field goal.

October 29 : Green Bay Packers (4-4) 23, Detroit Lions (1-6) (OT)
(MILWAUKEE) - Chris Jacke kicked a 38-yard field goal set up by Mark Murphy's interception on the first scrimmage play of overtime, giving the Green Bay Packers a 23-20 victory over the Detroit Lions. Jacke, who missed a 50-yarder on the final play of regulation, kicked the game-winner three plays after Murphy intercepted Rodney Peete's sideline pass to ex-Packer Walter Stanley on the first play following the kickoff. The Lions, who rallied with 10 fourth-quarter points to tie the game at 20-20, had moved to the Packers' 36 with 44 seconds left in regulation before Peete fumbled a handoff exchange and Tim Harris recovered, giving
Green Bay a final chance. The Packers moved to the Detroit 32, but Jacke's 50-yard attempt with the wind was wide right, forcing the overtime. Peete tied the game at 20-20 on a 14-yard run with 3:59 left following an interception by Jerry Holmes, who returned 16 yards to the Green Bay 1. After the Lions were called for holding, Peete sprinted to the corner of the end zone to tie the game. The Packers, who drove 80 yards in the final 1:57 of the first half to tie the game at 10-10, scored on their first two possessions of the third quarter to take a 20-10 lead. Don Majkowski's 31-yard swing pass to Keith Woodside set up Jacke's go-ahead 21-yard field goal that made it 13-10. Majkowski later hit Sterling Sharpe with a 2-yard touchdown pass to make it 20-10 with 4:08 left in the quarter. Eddie Murray, who had his string of 19 straight field goals snapped when he missed a 34-yarder in the second quarter, kicked a 46-yarder to make it 20-13 with 11:36 remaining in regulation time. Three Detroit penalties helped the Packers pull even at halftime.

November 5 : Green Bay Packers (5-4) 14, Chicago Bears (5-4) 13
(GREEN BAY) - Don Majkowski hit Sterling Sharpe with a 14-yard, fourth-down touchdown pass with 32 seconds left on a play reversed by a replay official and the Packers beat the Chicago Bears 14-13. An official on the field ruled that Majkowski had crossed the line of scrimmage at the 14, but the replay showed he released the ball from the 15. The penalty, which would have resulted in a loss of down, was called off and the touchdown signaled good after a five-minute delay. Chris Jacke's extra-point kick gave the Packers their one-point victory. Green Bay's win was its first over the Bears since 1984 and ended an eight-game losing streak against their NFC Central Division rivals. Both teams are 5-4. Majkowski had fumbled and thrown an interception to stop two earlier fourth-quarter drives by the Packers. But starting with 4:44 to go, he drove 73 yards for the winning score. The Bears organization protested, and to this day, it is marked in their media guide as "The Instant Replay Game."

Detroit scored 21 points in the second quarter. The scores came after a fumble by Green Bay QB Don Majkowski, an interception of Majkowski, a 74-yard punt return by Don Bracken to the Packers 13, and Jerry Holmes 23-yard TD return of another Majkowski interception. Green Bay fell to 5-5. Don Majkowski completed 34 of 59 passes for 357 yards.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Don Majkowski scooted eight yards on a quarterback draw for the go-ahead score with 11:55 to play, his second touchdown run, as the Green Bay Packers shocked error-plagued San Francisco 21-17 and stopped the 49ers' six-game winning streak. Majkowski, who also threw for a touchdown for the 13th consecutive game, slipped up the middle almost untouched on a third-and-3 play as Green Bay picked up a game on both Minnesota and Chicago, in the NFC West. (MILWAUKEE) - Don Majkowski threw two touchdown passes to Sterling Sharpe,
and Dave Brown had two interceptions in the final four minutes as Green Bay scored its second big upset in two weeks, beating Minnesota 20-19. The victory came a week after the Packers defeated San Francisco 21-17 and tied Green Bay with the Vikings for the NFC Central lead, both at 7-5. Majkowski's second touchdown pass to Sharpe covered 9 yards, capped a 65-yard drive and gave the Packers a 20-16 lead with 11 minutes left. Majkowski, who did not practice all week because of a tender knee, completed his first 14 passes and was 17-for-19 at the half for 177 yards. He finished with 26 completions in 35 attempts for 276 yards with Sharpe catching 10 passes for 157 yards. Minnesota then moved to the Green Bay 6 as Wade Wilson hit Anthony Carter for two passes covering 30 yards and connected with Steve Jordan for 17 yards. The Packers gave up 5 yards to Herschel Walker in three downs before Rich Karlis kicked his fourth field goal, making it 20-19 with 6:07 to go. It was the fourth time during the game the Packers' defense forced field goals after the Vikings had moved inside the 20. Brown then made interceptions - the 58th and 59th of his career - with 3:57 and 1:31 to go. Brown is now sixth on the all-time NFL interception list and the leader among active players.

December 3 : Green Bay Packers (8-5) 17, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-8) 16
(TAMPA BAY) - Chris Jacke's 47-yard field goal with no time remaining gave Green Bay a 17-16 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and kept the Packers in first place in the NFC Central. The game-winning kick came on the 12th play of a 52-yard drive sustained at the Packers 40 by a Tampa Bay penalty . Don Majkowski, who threw two touchdown passes to Sterling Sharpe, set up the score with a 17-yard completion to Carl Bland at the Bucs 30. The triumph was the fifth in the last six weeks for Green Bay (8-5), which started the day tied with the Minnesota Vikings for first in the divison. The Packers intercepted Vinny Testaverde five times and overcame three turnovers of their own to avenge a season-opening 23-21 loss to the Bucs. Tampa Bay (5-8) had come from behind in the closing minutes to win its previous two games and looked like it might get the job done again when Donald Igwebuike kicked a 36-yard field goal for a 16-14 lead with 1:35 remaining.

December 10 : Kansas City Chiefs (7-6-1) 21, Green Bay Packers (8-6) 3
(GREEN BAY) - Steve DeBerg passed for two touchdowns, and the Chiefs dominated with their defense, beating the Green Bay Packers 21-3 and keeping alive their playoff hopes. The Chiefs scored 14 points in the final minute of the first half for a 21-3 lead, then shut the Packers out in the second half, severely damaging their playoff chances. Kansas City, with the league's No. 2 defense, sacked Packers QB Don Majkowski four times, intercepted him once and held Green Bay to four second-half first downs. Majkowski, under a heavy rush all day, completed only 14 of 34 passes for 123 yards. The victory was the Chiefs' third straight. Green Bay had a three-game winning streak broken and was knocked from a first- place tie in the NFC Central Division with Minnesota, which beat Atlanta 43-17. DeBerg hit Emile Harry with a 12-yard touchdown pass with seven seconds left in the first half to give the Chiefs a 21-3 lead. Harry's catch came just three plays after the Chiefs' Neil Smith recovered a fumble by Majkowski at the Green Bay 15 with 43 seconds left. Kansas City had taken a 14-3 lead with 1:01 remaining in the half on Christian Okoye's 3-yard run capping a 78-yard drive. DeBerg was hot in the scoring drive, hitting Stephone Paige for 23 yards, Harry for 18 and then Herman Heard for 27 yards to the Green Bay 6. Okoye, the NFL's leading rusher, finished with 131 yards on 38 carries for his eighth 100-yard rushing game this season. DeBerg completed 15 of 19 passes for 203 yards. Kansas City took a 7-0 lead on the first play of the second quarter on DeBerg's 11-yard scoring pass to Jonathan Hayes, wrapping up a 65-yard drive. The Chiefs held Majkowski to five completions in 13 attempts in the first half. Majkowski's 18-yard quarterback draw and a 14-yard pass to John Spagnola moved the Packers to the Chiefs 9 late in the half. But after netting only 2 yards in three plays, Green Bay settled for Chris Jacke's 25-yard field goal that made it 7-3 with 3:57 remaining in the half. Green Bay recovered three Kansas City fumbles in the second half but could muster nothing offensively against the Chiefs as a frozen crowd of 56,694 sat in numbed silence.

December 17 : Green Bay Packers (9-6) 40, Chicago Bears (6-9) 28
(CHICAGO) - Don Majkowski passed for a touchdown and ran for two others, and Keith Woodside had a 68-yard touchdown run as Green Bay kept its flickering playoff hopes alive by beating Chicago 40-28. The victory ran the Packers' record to 9-6, guaranteeing their first winnning season since 1978 and marking the most victories for the Packers since 1972. The Bears, meanwhile, lost for the fifth straight time, their first losing streak that long in 11 years. It also guaranteed that Chicago, which is 6-9, will finish under .500 for the first time since 1982. The Packers got two big defensive plays from Scott Stephen. He intercepted a pass by Jim Harbaugh just as Chicago seemed set to go ahead in the fourth quarter and set Green Bay off on an 83-yard drive. And he picked up a fumble forced by Tim Harris' sack and ran 76 yards to the Chicago 8, setting up Chris Jacke's fourth field goal with less than two minutes to play. Majkowski, meanwhile, joined Lynn Dickey as only the second Packer to pass for more than 4,000 yards in a season. He threw 27 yards for a touchdown to Perry Kemp, had scoring runs of 17 and 1 yard and had 21 completions in 36 attempts for 244 yards. Jacke's field goals of 19, 44, 23 and 21 yards completed the scoring.

December 24 : Green Bay Packers (10-6) 20, Dallas Cowboys (1-15) 10
(DALLAS) - The Green Bay Packers finished their regular season on a high note with a victory over the Cowboys, whose 15 losses tied an NFL record. Green Bay's 10-6 record was its best in 17 years while Dallas finished at 1-15 in Jimmy Johnson's rookie year as coach. It was the 14th consecutive home loss for Dallas, an NFL record. The 15 losses by Dallas matched the 1980 Saints. It was the second-worst season in Cowboys' history; the 1960 expansion team failed to win a game. Green Bay's go-ahead touchdown came on a five-yard scoring pass from Dan Majkowski to TE Ed West with 3.58 left in the third quarter. Mark Murphy's fourth-quarter fumble recovery at the Green Bay 30 set up a 63-yard drive that ended with Chris Jacke's 24-yard field goal with 3:24 left. The Cowboys tied the score at 10 on Jack Del Rio's 57-yard fumble return with 6:51 left in the third quarter. Jon Carter caused the fumble when he hit Brent Fullwood, who was attempting to hand off on a reverse. The Packers finished 10-6, but their wild-card chances ended when the Los Angeles Rams beat New England, 24-20, in a game played almost simultaneously. The Packers lost out on the Central Division title the next night when Minnesota beat Cincinnati. The Vikings won the tie-breaker based on a better division record (6-2 versus the Packers' 5-3 mark).

1989 IN REVIEW: For one glorious season, the Green Bay Packers became the "Cardiac Pack" by setting an NFL record with four wins by a single point. The team won seven games by five or fewer points. Green Bay spent most of the season rallying from seemingly-impossible deficits. They came back to beat New Orleans in Week 2 after being down 17 at the half. In Week 4, they came back from 15 down in the final quarter to beat Atlanta. They nearly defeated the Rams after being down by 31. Don Majkowski set franchise records for pass attempts (599) and completions (353). WR Sterling Sharpe led the NFL with 90 receptions. In the end, the Packers fell one game short of the playoffs, when Minnesota beat Cincinnati on Christmas Day. Off the field, Green Bay welcomed a new team president in June, when Bob Harlan replaced Robert Parins. The team signed a league-high 20 players under the new Plan B free agency plan. Four of those players appeared in all 16 games.

August 12: Green Bay (1-0) 28, New York Jets 27
(MILWAUKEE) - Sterling Sharpe turned a shortpass from Anthony Dilweg into a go-ahead 49-yard touchdown late in the third quarter as the Packers beat the Jets. The Jets had a chance to win the game in the final minute, but Pat Leahy was low and short on a 44-yard field goal try with 17 seconds to go. Sharpe grabbed the pass, split two defenders, broke another tackle and outran a fourth pursuer to give the Packers a 21-20 lead with 4:34 to go in the third quarter. Dilweg, a rookie who played the second half, led the Packers on a 44-yard
scoring drive in the fourth quarter. Passes of 15 yards to Jeff Smith and 13 yards to George Cooper led to a 2-yard touchdown run by Smith with 5:53 left, making it 28-20. Kyle Mackey then drove the Jets 67 yards in seven plays, hitting Randy Tanner on a 15-yard touchdown pass with 2:56 to bring New York within 28-27. Out of timeouts, New York reached the Green Bay 27 on a final drive but Leahy's kick missed badly. Leahy also kicked a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the first half to make it 17-14, just as a thunderstorm drenched County Stadium. The storm delayed the start of the second half by 15 minutes.

(GREEN BAY) - George Wonsley ran three yards for a touchdown with 26 seconds remaining Saturday as the Colts drove 61 yards in less than a minute to beat the Packers. The Packers, down 17-6 at the half, rallied for a 23-17 lead when Jeff Query took a low pass from quarterback Don Majkowski and ran 49 yards for a touchdown with 1:34 to go. After an offside penalty against Green Bay on the kickoff, the Colts started their drive on their own 39 with 1:22 left. The big play was a 31-yard pass from Jack Trudeau to Andre Rison that carried to the Packers' 12-yard line. A six-yard run by Albert Bentley and a facemask penalty against the Packers put the ball on the 3. Wonsley scored two plays later. Dean Biasucci then kicked the winning extra point as the Colts ran their exhibition record to 2-0.

August 26: Green Bay (2-1) 27, Buffalo 24
(MADISON) - Anthony Dilweg's 2-yard touchdown pass to Perry Kemp with 19 seconds remaining capped the Packers' rally for a win over the Bills. Trailing 24-20, the Packers got the ball with 1:53 remaining after a Buffalo punt. Dilweg, a rookie, then directed an eight-play, 60-yard scoring drive, aided by a 24-yard pass interference call on the Bills' Kenneth Cheattom that carried to the Buffalo 9. Dilweg hit Patrick Scott with a 7-yard pass to the 2, then passed to Kemp in the right corner of the end zone. The Bills squandered a 17-6 third quarter lead, but moved ahead 24-20 on Stan Gelbaugh's 7-yard pass to Chris Burkett with 13:56 remaining. Burkett wrestled the ball away from Green Bay's Michael McGruder in the end zone, capping an 80-yard Buffalo scoring drive. Jim Kelly started at quarterback for the Bills but played only one quarter, completing 2-of-5 passes for 11 yards. Frank Reich and Stan Gelbaugh came on for the Bills to complete the quarterbacking chores. A crowd of only 30,432 watched the game in intermittent rain at Camp Randall Stadium.

(NEW ENGLAND) - Rookie Chris Jacke kicked three field goals and Phillip Epps added a 20-yard touchdown run on a reverse for Green Bay as the Packers blanked the Patriots, who also lost two defensive starters with serious injuries. Defensive end Garin Veris tore ligaments in his left knee in the first quarter and cornerback Ronnie Lippett ruptured a left Achilles tendon in the third period. Jacke hit from 42, 57 and 37 yards while missing a 28-yarder. The 57-yarder with 1:33 left in the first half was four yards longer than the team's regular-season record by Jan Stenerud in 1981.

THE INSTANT REPLAY GAME
SOURCE: www.majiknetwork.com
Don Majkowski will forever be remembered for throwing a last-second touchdown to beat the Chicago Bears 14-13 at Lambeau Field in 1989 in the famous “Instant Replay” game. It was one of the most exciting games in Packer history and is still a game that Bears’ fans love to complain about. With fourth down and the ball resting on the Bears’ 14 yard line, Majkowski rolled out to his right towards the sideline looking for an open receiver. Just before going out of bounds – and with his foot planted on the 15-yard line – Majkowski fired a perfect pass to Sterling Sharpe for the winning score. Shortly afterwards, a referee ruled that Majik had stepped over the line of scrimmage which would have nullified the play. However, after an Instant Replay review, the call was overturned and the touchdown counted.
The game would be the highlight of the Majkowski era, which was short but exciting. In his six seasons with the Packers, Majkowski played in 68 games, completed 889 passes for 10,870 yards and 56 touchdowns. He started five games in 1987, becoming the first rookie in Packer history to throw for 300-plus yards in one game. The following season, Majkowski led the Packers to three of their four victories in a dismal 4-12 campaign. It all came together in 1989 for the Majik Man, as he led the NFL in passing yards, attempts and completions. He threw 27 touchdown passes and was named to the Pro Bowl.
The wheels started to come off in 1990, when Majkowski held out for 45 days trying to re-negotiate his contract. He would go on to throw for 1,925 yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games before suffering serious shoulder injury at Phoenix in mid-November. Majkowski only played in nine games in an injury-plagued 1991 season. On September 20, 1992, he suffered a serious ankle injury against Cincinnati, and Brett Favre took over the reins.
