PRE-SEASON - September 14: Green Bay 46, Oshkosh 0
(GREEN BAY) - The Green Bay Packers overwhelmed the Oshkosh All-Stars in their opening game of the season here Sunday. Earl Britton's Oshkosh gridsters were easily outclassed and at no time had a chance to score. One of the features of the Packer walkover was the brilliant showing of several of the recruits, particularly a trio of home towners. Arnie Herber showed class at quarterback and punted well. Ken Radick came through nicely at end, while Dave Zuidmulder grabbed a pass and scampered some fifty yards through a
broken field for a touchdown. It was the longest run of the game.

(GREEN BAY) - Green Bay was sitting on top of the pro football world today with three consecutive victories firmly tucked away. Fulfilling the prediction of fans, the Packers, in their third start of the season, showed themselves invincible as they whitewashed the highly touted Chicago Bears Sunday. More than 13,000 fans saw the home team dismiss, without too much difficulty, the threat of the Granges and Driscolls. Only once did the Bears have a chance to score a touchdown, but Molenda ended the march to the goalposts by intercepting a forward pass to mark the beginning of Bay scoring. The Packers consistently outplayed and outsmarted their opponents.

(GREEN BAY) - Off on an end run toward their second consecutive title, the Green Bay Packers snatched a victory from the New York Giants for their third win of the season. Before nearly 11,000 fans, the Packers dodged the line in the second period for the first score when Nash ran 15 yards across the line after receiving a pass from Lewellen. A blocked punt later in the same period paved the way for the next count. Campbell recovered for the easterners on the Packer 24-yard line. Three line plays added ten yards and a pass, Friedman to Sedbrook, resulting in a touchdown. The winning marker for the Packers came in the final period when Blood took a pass from Dunn on his own 45-yard line and raced 55 yards for a touchdown.

October 19: Green Bay (5-0) 13, Minneapolis (1-2-1) 0
(MINNEAPOLIS) - Green Bay continued its undefeated march through the NFL Sunday afternoon by stowing away a victory over the Minneapolis Red Jackets in the final professional football game of the season here. The Red Jackets played the Packers pretty much on even terms for most of the game, but couldn't stop two quick thrusts that gave the champions their winning margin. The two touchdown marches of the Packers were almost identical. They amounted to a series of running plays, a long pass and a final buck for a touchdown. And both were so smoothly executed that they apneared simple.

(GREEN BAY) - With six straight victories and no defeats on their record, the Green Bay Packers today topped the league standings. For the second time in two weeks, the Bays defeated Minneapolis. Green Bay scored in each of the first three periods of the game while the Red Jackets threatened only on one occasion, when Pederson intercepted a pass and carried it to the Packer 10-yard line. The Packers held and the threat ended quickly. A pass, Lewellen to Dilweg, paved the way for the latter to carry over the oval for the first six-pointer. In the second period, a series of line smashes and a pass put Lidberg in position to crash across the line. In the third, Herber passed to Fitzgibbons and the latter ran 25 yards to count.

McCrary took passes from Dunn in the third and added two more touchdowns for the Bays. A pass, Lumpkin to McClain, gave the Spartans their first score in the third period. A pass and a line smash in the fourth shoved the ball over for another touchdown for the Ohioans. Green Bay wound up the quarter with two more six-pointers. November 9: Green Bay (8-0) 13, Chicago Bears (4-4-1) 12
(CHICAGO) - By the narrow margin of one point after a touchdown, the Green Bay Packers remained atop the circuit standings with a record of eight straight victories. Nearly 25,000 persons—about 3,000 of them from Wisconsin—yesterday saw Red Dunn boot a placement that gave the Bays a win over the Chicago Bears. The first period saw both teams see-saw with neither making any serious threat. In the second, a deluge of spinners, passes and drives shoved the Bays to the 17-yard line and Blood carried the ball across. Red Dunn missed the kick. Using Red Grange as a decoy, the Bears smashed Bronko Nagurski through for several good gains in the third and slipped the ball to Joey Sternaman, who loped 33 yards around the Packer end for six points. He missed his try for the extra. In the final period, Blood, Molenda and Lewellen took the ball to the 19-yard line and Lewellen snagged a pass to go over. Dunn booted and put the Bays in the lead, 13-6. An attack from the air slid the Bear ball to the Packer goal line. Walter Holmer missed the kick.

November 16: Chicago Cardinals (5-5-2) 13, Green Bay (8-1) 6
(CHICAGO) - The two year winning streak of the Green Bay Packers was at an end today. The Chicago Cardinals, defeated five times this season, handed an ill-functioning Bay team a defeat at Chicago yesterday. Led by Ernie Never, the Chicagoans put on a passing attack in the second period that netted the initial score. A pass, Nevers to Belden, carried the ball over. Nevers missed his attempted kick. The Packers' showed some of their usual form in the third period when a passing and plunging foray put the ball on the Cardinal 4-yard line. McCrary plunged over for the Bay count. Dunn missed the kick. Again in the final period, Nevers ripped through the Packer line for consistent gains and finally carried the oval over for a 6-pointer and followed by kicking the goal. The game ended with the Cardinals on the Packer 2 yard line.

November 23: New York (11-2) 13, Green Bay (8-2) 6
(NEW YORK) - Defeating the Packers at the Polo Grounds, the New York Giants today headed the standings of the NFL. Each team has lost two games. But the Giants nosed into first place because of winning two more games than the Wisconsin team. Chris Cagle, former Army star, made his professional debut with the New Yorkers but failed to get away for any of the sensational runs that netted him his reputation. The Giants counted first in the second period. Badgro making a touchdown on a long pass from Friedman. Moran slipped through the Packers for an 84-yard trot early in the third and Friedman plunged over for the second score. The Packers counted their lone points late in the third after two passes moved the ball from midfield in position for Lewellen to skirt the end. Beset by frequent penalties, the Bays made one serious threat in the final stanza and carried the oval to within a few inches of the goal, only to lose the ball on downs.

November 27: Green Bay (9-2) 25, Frankford (4-12-1) 7
(FRANKFORD) - Nosed out of the lead in the NFL by the New York Giants, who maintained their position less than a week, the Packers today were back in first place. The Bays, scoring in three of the four periods, took the Frankford Yellowjackets yesterday, as the Giants lost to Stapleton. The Packers have lost two games and the Giants three this season. A Packer fumble caused by numbed fingers as the teams fought in frigid weather was credited for the touchdown collected by the Jackets. Green Bay's first counters came via the air to Blood. He took Dunn's pass in the first and ran 45 yards to score. Another toss, this time from Lewellen, connected with Blood on the 25 yard line, and he navigated to a touchdown. Intercepted passes aided the Bays to obtain their markers in the final period. Dilweg took a Jacket pass and made the 25-yard line before he was stopped. Herber slipped through a hole in tackle for the first touchdown. Hubbard took a Frankford pass and smashed to the 15 yard line and McCrary crashed through for the last six-point.

November 30: Green Bay (10-2) 37, Staten Island (5-5-2) 7
(STATEN ISLAND) - What was predicted by dopesters to be a close contest turned out to be an easy slaughter for the Green Bay Packers and they defeated the Stapleton eleven. Stapleton scored but once before the crowd of 12,000 that witnessed the game on Staten Island. Ken Strong took a lateral pass and ran 65 yards through the Packers for a touchdown. He kicked, for the extra point. The Bay offensive utilized everything on the football docket from spinner plays to complex passes to snare six touchdowns. Blood collected two and his teammates, Lewellen, Molenda, Englemann and Hubbard each went over. The Packers, upset twice during their field tour, today seemed assured of duplicating their last season's pennant. The New York Giants dropped their second game in four days yesterday, have four defeats against two for the Wisconsin team. They lost to to Brooklyn yesterday.

December 7: Chicago Bears (9-4-1) 21, Green Bay (10-3) 0
(CHICAGO) - The Green Bay Packers recovered from the most severe drubbing they have received in their past two seasons. The Chicago Bears led by Bronko Nagurski and Red Grange, trampled them yesterday. While the Chicago eleven was looked upon by sports writers as a powerful machine, the .league leading Packers were favorites to win. The defeat trimmed the Bay's margin in league percentages to a lead of but .004 over the New York Giants. The Bears' victory was reported by sports fans to have been a merited one, their team functioning perfectly. While the famed "Jumping Joe" Savoldi, Bear tenderfoot who recently was the prima donna of Knute Rockne's All-American team, flitted over the gridiron with his new teammates, he was dwarfed in attainment by the stellar work of "Big Nag." Savoldi played but a few minutes of the game, long enough to see the Packers snatch passes from under his nose, and begin a drive toward the goal. Dick Nesbitt made a run of 38 yards for one of the Chicago touchdowns while Luke Johnsos took two passes from Brumbaugh for the other markers.

December 14: Green Bay (10-3-1) 6, Portsmouth (10-3-2) 6 (Tie)
(PORTSMOUTH) - By about the slimmest possible margin, the Green Bay Packers today laid claim to their second consecutive NFL championship. Utilizing all the tricks in the repertoire of the veterans, Molenda, Lewellen, Nash and Dilweg, the Packers advanced the ball from the 40-yard line in their game yesterday with the Portsmouth Spartans to score on a pass to Engleman and emerged at the end with a tie, as Bennett scored for the Ohioans. The Spartans, after the first period, outplayed the Bays and straight football as Bennett and "Father" Lumpkin tore through the Packer line for consistent gains. The Badger team excelled in the passing game. The Spartan score came in the second as Lumpkin and Bennett aternately smashed through for a 70-yard drive.
